Haute monde meets mad hatter in France at the fabulous, fantastic wedding reception of New York interior decorator and stylist Kelly d'Halluin, née Kapica, and art-loving grande famille scion Nicolas d'Halluin. The eighteenth-century fête champêtre set to twenty-first-century music was held at the seventeenth-century Château de Breteuil in the countryside near Paris with cocktails in the gardens, candlelit dinner on the terrace — at a single long table set for three hundred guests — and music and dancing in the grand salons. "Arty, decadent, a bit Oscar Wilde and Cecil Beaton with room for natural imperfection" imagined the organized Kelly. And a retinue of international talents, including noted Paris floral designer Stéphane Chapelle, delivered magnificently. A chic fait accompli.
